Frequently asked questions

What is Herbal Heena?

Henna is a plant. The leaf is used to make medicine. It can be used for stomach and intestinal ulcers. Henna is sometimes applied directly to the affected area to treat dandruff, eczema, scabies, fungal infections, and wounds.

Henna is used in manufacturing cosmetics, hair dyes, and hair care products; and as a dye for nails, hands, and clothing. People also use henna on the skin as temporary “tattoos.”

What is the difference between natural herbal Heena vs commercial hair colours?

To address premature greying of hair, we normally use expensive chemical hair dyes. Henna does not give dark colour but a reddish-brown colour to grey hair. Not everyone likes this reddish hue even when they know that henna is natural and safe. However, the side effects of hair dyes are devastating - rough, brittle and damaged hair, hair fall, reduced hair growth, and more and more grey hair.

On the other hand, Natural Herbal Heena, is a mix of hair-friendly herbs and is 100% chemical-free. It is highly affordable for regular use, is devoid of any side effects, and effectively prevents graying of hair over a period of time.

Unlike normal henna, it does not colour the hair red. It gives a dark hue to grey hair and an attractive glow to normal hair when used according to the instructions given.

How to apply Herbal Heena?

For conditioning purposes, apply from hair roots to ends and leave on for two hours before rinsing off with plenty of water. Avoid using shampoo. If required, use Herbal Shampoo only. For natural colouring or dyeing of hair, leave henna on for 4-5 hours. Remember that the colour will take another 24 hours to develop.

For maximum coverage of grey hair, it is recommended that you use Natural Herbal Heena 3-4 times a week in the beginning. As you progress, you may use henna only once a month. Regular use of the Natural Herbal Heena prevents greying of hair over a period of time.

How does Herbal Heena work?

Henna contains substances that help fight certain infections. There is also some information that henna can decrease the growth of tumors, prevent or reduce spasms, decrease inflammation, and relieve pain.

How do I use Herbal Heena?

Henna for conditioning (hair pack):

  • Mix with warm water, Yoghurt, Egg, or Methi (Fenugreek), as per preference.
  • Apply on your hair, and leave on for 60 minutes or more.
  • Rinse thoroughly, repeating as many times as required to get hair clean.
  • Oil hair lightly for added gloss and shine.

Henna for dyeing:

  • Soak the Henna in tea water or coffee water overnight. Add only a dash of lemon juice if you wish.
  • The next day, apply the paste on clean, product-free hair and leave for 60 – 90 minutes, depending on the intensity of colour you want.
  • Rinse thoroughly, repeating as many times as it takes to get the hair clean.

Henna for body art

  • Mix the Henna with warm water.
  • Ladle the paste into a pre-rolled or home-made cone for easy use.
  • Light staining is achieved within minutes of application.
  • To accentuate colour intensity, dab now and then with a sugar-lemon syrup, as your design dries progressively.
  • Henna tattoos are temporary and fade over time.
